Here is the analysis:

Tooth Brush Bristle Induced Pressure and Shear force on Teeth

Tooth Force  -  a Finite Element Analysis ( FEA ) using flexPDE

Comments Regarding my Tooth Force Analysis Work:

This work is a natural extension of my ongoing study of microfluidic phenomena.

At one time I became interested in learning something about tooth brush bristle induced fluid shear and pressure forces exerted on teeth.  To examine this, I made the simplest possible finite element analysis ( FEA ) model that I could think of.

My purpose was not to develop a model of high accuracy, but to merely get a feeling about how the forces might vary across different parts of a tooth when bristles are moving the adjacent fluid.  The resultant model begins the telling of an interesting story.
