Comments Regarding
my Fluidic and Microfluidic
Design, Measurement and Analysis
Work:
- During the seven years I worked
as a fuel cell design engineer at Neah Power Systems, I got experience with many
interesting fluidic and microfluidic devices. I have designed,
analyzed, measured, disassembled and reverse engineered all manner of
piezo-pumps and other microfluidic devices. I have designed pressure
regulators and micro flow meters. I have examined, by finite element
analysis (FEA using flexPDE) and bench experiment, various micro valves
suitable for use in piezopumps and other microfluidic devices. I have
designed, analyzed and measured both resonant and non-resonant piezoelectric
and electromagnetic pump diaphragms and related driver electronics.
-
- While at Neha Power, I also became knowledgeable
regarding materials and bonding and sealing methods for microfluidic devices that must
withstand corrosive chemical environments.
-
- I find the study of
microfluidics and the design of microfluidic devices to be an endlessly
fascinating area of work.
